Screenshot of videoYou are about to begin Topic 3, Protein Purification.

In this topic you’ll learn about the role of Protein Purification. You will start by clicking on the next button at the bottom of the page to being reviewing information about Protein Purification.

OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of this module topic, you should:

  1. Be able to extract and isolate proteins from a tissue or cell sample.
  2. Be able to purify proteins using precipitation (immunoprecipitation) techniques to isolate specific proteins from a sample and to study protein-protein interactions.
  3. Be able to conduct absorbance (spectrophotometry) and colorimetric (Bradford) protein assays to measure and quantitate protein concentrations in a sample.
